Calculated Abstract is similar in some respects to Raw Abstract Expressive art in the fact that the work is non-representational and is in essence uniquely derived from the gut or creative DNA. The main differentiation between this style and R.A.E. art is the element of a conceptual framework prior to creation. Though the art is still abstract expressive, the work is not 100% created “on the fly” as is R.A.E artwork.
